John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has been able to touch many by his lyrics. A lot of them are based on Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in love with Colorado and then settled in Aspen. Many people beat a path towards Colorado due to Denver's famous songs for his home state. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declares that John Denver is unlike any other performer who has the recognizable image of Colorado. Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its the first member in 2011. He is now the international face of Colorado. If you travel with me, you may meet people at the other end of the globe. Like, for instance, people who is from New Zealand. And when you say that you are from Colorado you will get "Oh John Denver!" Brown stated. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short time in folk groups was Take Me Home Country Roads co-written with Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the song in conjunction with Johnny Cash in mind but when Denver was introduced to an earlier version immediately, he realized the song could be the next hit single. The song was recorded by the singer just a few days later following a performance to the awe-inspiring crowd on the streets of Washington D.C.
