Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21, 1983 in Worthington Ohio, USA is an American actress. She is famous for playing Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills as well on ABC's Lost television series. After the divorce of her parents her parents separated, she moved to Worthington in Ohio and moved at Los Angeles. She landed her debut role in the film, Rachel's Room's main character in 2001, despite having a difficult time financially. In 2002 she was nominated for an Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. The show featured her as the principal role for two seasons, and also won a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace quit the show in 2005 to focus on a more significant role in film, appearing alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. In 2007, she appeared as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and also, as Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills in Taken. The actress reprised her character in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was Shannon again in Lost's final episode and two other episodes. She was in 2013 for Season 6 of Californication. She portrays Faith an actress in a group and as her muse to the stars who captures the eye of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She's a Gyllenhaal. daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is older that Jake Gyllenhaal. The first time she appeared in films starring her father as an adolescent. Along with her brother, she appeared on the screen in Donnie Darko (2000). The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind which was released in 2002 as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated to win the Golden Globe Award in both the action drama Sherrybaby (2005) and the love story Secretary (2002). The two films were critically acclaimed. In 2006, she starred in several commercially successful movies including World Trade Center. However it was her performance in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her more attention with The Dark Knight (2008). In the wake of her performance that was a hit as an unmarried mother in Crazy Heart (2009), she was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The subsequent roles she has played include Nanny McPhee as well as the Big Bang and Hysteria. Her other roles include Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 an action thriller) and actors in Frank (2014 Drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and her role as the Kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal began her professional career as screenwriter and director in 2021, when she wrote and directed the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter.
